Big Sur is located along California’s Central Coast, about 150 miles south of San Francisco and 300 miles north of Los Angeles. It stretches about 90 miles along Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) between Carmel-by-the-Sea and San Simeon.
Big Sur is renowned for its dramatic coastline, where the Santa Lucia Mountains rise directly from the Pacific Ocean. The area is known for rugged cliffs, beautiful beaches, and lush forests with towering redwoods.
