Thingvellir National Park – Iceland

Thingvellir National Park is Iceland’s breathtaking natural and
historical treasure. Nestled in a dramatic rift valley where the North
American and Eurasian tectonic plates slowly pull apart, it offers
cliffs, fissures, and sparkling waters you can actually dive into at
Silfra. But Thingvellir isn’t just about geology—it’s where the
world’s oldest parliament, the Alþingi, was founded in 930 AD, making
it a cradle of Icelandic democracy. Visitors can hike across lava
fields, snap epic photos of waterfalls like Öxarárfoss, and feel the
awe of standing between two continents at once.
